This is a small lot of paperwork dating to 1859.
It includes these handwritten papers- 

Fornication / Bastardy court papers from the Commonwealth of PA vs Joel Cox. One says warrant and has a list of court costs and is signed Thomas Bitters

There is a sworn letter from the woman Samantha Simon who stated Joel is the father.

Grand Inquest with both of their names and the mention of a bastard female child.

Commonwealths' Bills of costs bill

As you can see these pages have staining and aging. There are some tears and the papers are fragile but not terribly so. The brown folder that contained them is very brittle though. 

I found Joel Cox online, he got married to a Sarah Camp 1985, the same year this happened. They went on to have 4 sons and 7 daughters . The town and county mentioned is the same so it appears this is truly him. 
I could not find the woman online.
