A beautiful and highly decorative 19th-century French silver medicine spoon, showcasing the refined craftsmanship and elegant ornamental style of the Louis Philippe, Restoration, and Charles X period.
The spoon features a distinctive twisted stem richly decorated with graceful scrollwork and foliage motifs. The handle terminates in an unusual baluster-shaped finial composed of four sections, each decorated with six finely chased facets. The oval spoon bowl has a pointed tip, giving the piece an elegant and distinctive silhouette.
The spoon was formerly gilded, adding to its historical character and decorative appeal. It bears the French Minerve hallmark indicating 800/1000 silver purity. A Master Silversmith hallmark is also present, although incomplete.
