Sobell House Hospice offers specialist palliative care to those facing life-threatening illness, death, and bereavement in Oxfordshire. This encompasses physical, psychological, social, and spiritual care and includes supporting their families and those close to them. We care for around 3,000 patients and their families every year.
All of the items we sell have been donated to the Sobell House Hospice Charity, and most have been pre-loved. We have no history with any of the items we sell. Any major defects will be shown in the photographs and highlighted in the description. Some items are donated with gift aid – these items are being sold under the Retail Gift Aid scheme, which enables us to increase the value of donations by 25%.
Item Description: Visually in nice condition, with original box. Unfortunately, the red light continually flashes so the console is being sold as is. According to YouTube, this is an easy enough fix.
Nintendo Entertainment System console shows the iconic grey and black front-loader design. It includes a cartridge slot on top for inserting games, here featured with Super Mario Bros. The system features two rectangular controllers with a D-pad, A and B buttons, and Start and Select options.
Clean the Game Cartridge:
Dip a cotton swab in high-percentage rubbing alcohol (90% or higher).
Rub both sides of the gold contact pins on the bottom of the game.
Dry the pins completely with a clean, dry cotton swab before putting the game back into the system.
Adjust or Clean the Console's 72-Pin Connector.
Open the console by removing the six screws on the bottom and lifting off the top shell.
Remove the metal shield and slide the internal 72-pin connector off the motherboard.
Clean the connector pins with rubbing alcohol, or replace the old connector entirely if the metal has lost its grip.
Quick Troubleshooting Tips
Avoid blowing air into your cartridges, as moisture from your breath causes long-term corrosion.
Gently wiggle the cartridge side-to-side or leave it in the un-pressed position after inserting it to help force a better metal connection.
