Unusual antique copper engraved portrait of a Maori warrior in New Zealand, by James Cook. The view is engraved by Benard. The plate shows a man with a topknot, a comb (heru), a jade ear pendant (pounamu) and a distinctive facial tattoo.

Condition : good condition

Edition : Paris, 1774, 18th century
