An original antique hardback specimen book and catalogue titled Specimens of Printing Types and Catalogue of Material, published by H. W. Caslon & Co. Ltd., 82 & 83 Chiswell Street, London.
This impressive volume features hundreds of pages showcasing classic Caslon typefaces, ornaments, borders, telegraphic code sheets, and printers' machinery and materials, beautifully printed with red and black ink accents throughout.
In terms of condition, the binding is in POOR state, with the spine structure completely split and detached from the front cover, alongside severe cloth fraying and loss to the spine ends. The front cover is effectively detached or loose, and the cover appears to have been exposed to moisture over time, which has likely contributed to its condition issues and surface wear. There are also a fair amount of missing pages - 60 Missing in total.
Otherwise, the majority of the interior text block remains in GOOD antique condition with generally clean, crisp printing, showing expected light age-toning, edge wear, and occasional tears or folds on a few specimen leaves as pictured.
