HELLER, Joseph. Catch-22. London: Jonathan Cape. 1962. 8vo. Second impression of the U.K. edition, published in July of 1962; the first was June 1962. Publisher’s red cloth lettered in gilt to the spine, in the dust jacket. This copy with a single page double-sided notes from an unknown scholar detailing the great novel’s workings—“the logical application of the illogical.” A very good or better copy. The cloth clean and bright, the binding tight and square. The contents generally clean, slight abrasion to front pastedown. The topstain still vivid. The dust jacket Cape-cut at corners, unclipped, gently nicked and rubbed at corners and tips, the joints mildly rubbed also. But a handsome copy overall, and uncommonly clean within.
