Condition

Near Mint. Clean face-on with sharp corners, tight edges, and an unmarked surface front and back. Centering presents even on the face. The raking-light macro documents the surface and edges directly, so gloss and corners are visible before purchase. Photos show the exact card shipped, front and back.

About the Set

Neo Destiny released in February 2002 as the final Neo-series expansion under Wizards of the Coast — 105 numbered cards plus eight Shining secret rares. Alongside the Light mechanic, it carried the Dark Pokémon theme that ran from Team Rocket through the Neo era, giving familiar Pokémon alternate alignments and artwork.

About This Card

Dark Haunter 36/105 is a Stage 1 uncommon from the set’s Dark Pokémon subset, illustrated by Aya Kusube. It evolves from Gastly and is the direct pre-evolution of Dark Gengar. Its attacks fit the Dark alignment — Call Back pulls a Basic or Baby from the opponent’s discard, and Surround plays for sleep and retreat lock. Collector attention across the Gengar family has been strong through 2026, drawing renewed interest to the early line.

Provenance

Pack-pulled by me as a child from Neo Destiny packs and held in my personal collection since — single owner from pull to listing.
