Pair of cabinet cards with dense handwritten script on the backs.

The writing on the backs may be from a person describing being locked up or confined for a number of years against their wishes, possibly in connection with a sanatorium, asylum, or psychiatric institution.

Both cards will need to be fully transcribed and translated to confirm the exact content, so please review the photographs of the backs carefully.

Both cards appear to be by C. Pietzner. K.u.K. Hof-Atelier.

The images on the fronts of the cards feature a young girl, possibly the same girl at different ages.

Condition: Both cards show age-related wear and tear. The corners are split, with the top corners on the younger girl card quite heavily split, while the others are starting to split. The card featuring the older girl has a chip to the bottom border. Please also expect corner knocks, scratches, edge chips, marks, foxing, frosting and spotting, light creases, and general signs of age.

The backs have grazes where it appears the cards may once have been glued into an album or similar. Some old glue and paper residue remains.
