For sale is a retro mtb wheelset comprising the following:-
Mavic X221 rims.
Marin Ovation front hub
Marin Ovation rear hub fitted with a Shimano HG50-9 11-32T 9 speed cassette.
Hope lightning rotors - 175mm front and 165mm rear (now refitted in the correct orientation).
26” standard 100/135mm quick release mtb spacing.
Circa year 2001.
Both hubs spin smoothly (sealed bearings) and freely without any play and both run true.
Disc or rim brake compatible (braking surfaces are still good).
Previously listed with a broken rear wheel spoke which i’ve now replaced (I only have silver spares but it does the job).
Great for an early 2000’s retro build.
