Luigi Vanotti was a renowned Italian craftsman who worked for the legendary Rampone & Cazzani before establishing his own prestigious workshop in Milan in the early 20th century. Known for their lyrical tonal qualities and meticulous keywork, Vanotti instruments are highly sought after by collectors of vintage European woodwinds.

Condition & Authenticity

This instrument is being sold strictly in unrestored, "as-found" condition.

• Provenance: Recently sourced from a local estate.
• Finish: Original silver plating over nickel silver. I have chosen not to clean or polish this piece to preserve the authentic antique patina preferred by serious conservators. Shows some plate loss.
• Mechanics: This is a Boehm System flute with an Inline-G and C-foot. All keys are present and move, but the pads are original and have perished; a full mechanical overhaul and re-padding will be required to make this a playable instrument.
• Integrity: The body, headjoint, and footjoint appear structurally sound with no visible cracks or catastrophic dents.
