For sale: A highly collectible, museum-grade writing instrument – Visconti Van Gogh "Old Style" fountain pen in pristine NOS (New Old Stock) condition. The pen has never been inked, never been used, and comes as a complete factory set (Full Set).
This is the highly coveted first generation of the Van Gogh series, featuring the classic, elegant cigar-shaped (torpedo) design. The body and cap are crafted from premium natural vegetal resin (cellulose acetate). This organic material feels warm to the touch, offers superior impact resistance, and reveals stunning three-dimensional depth and translucency under direct light—a hallmark of vintage Visconti craftsmanship.
🎨 Rarity & Color Note: This pen is finished in the legendary "Musk Green" natural resin. Among vintage Visconti collectors, Musk Green is considered one of the rarest and most desirable finishes from the original 2000s era due to its incredible chatoyancy. Finding a first-generation model made of this premium resin with a factory 14K gold nib in uninked, mint condition is exceptionally rare on the global market today.
Key Features:
- Condition: NOS (New Old Stock) – flawlessly preserved with absolutely no signs of wear, micro-scratches, or previous use.
- Nib: Original, springy bi-color 14K gold nib (stamped 585) in F (Fine) size. This vintage gold nib offers superb bounce ("spring") and an incredibly smooth writing experience, unlike the stiffer steel nibs used on later generations.
- Filling System: Premium Visconti screw-in converter with durable metal threads (included inside the pen).
- Full Set Includes: Original luxury Visconti leather presentation box, the original booklet/warranty documentation, and the original Visconti ink bottle.
⚠️ Important Shipping Note Regarding Ink: The included Visconti ink bottle is original, but it will be emptied prior to shipping. The liquid must be removed to comply with strict international courier regulations, air-freight safety standards, and specifically the US TSCA (Toxic Substances Control Act) regulations, which restrict the import of undocumented liquid chemical substances. You will receive the original, clean, branded Visconti bottle as an essential part of this complete collector's set. (If picked up locally, the ink will be included).
The pen features superb ergonomics, a chrome-plated brass grip section, and a secure "3-cam" friction-fit cap lock—all hallmarks of Visconti's golden era of manufacturing. A phenomenal piece for serious collectors or an exclusive, high-end gift that will only appreciate in value.
