Authentic antique Japanese wakizashi with signature "Kawachi no Kami Kunisuke" (unverified). The blade is in full polish with several spots of pitting from old rust. The hamon is razor-thin suguha, probably polished to the limit over the years. The shinogi ridge is crisp and prominent the entire length of the blade. No discernable grain pattern in the hada. No chips. Sharp. The habaki is solid copper and well-fitted. The nakago is ubu with one mekugi-ana. No mekugi. (update: added mekugi) Includes a photocopy of the Japanese police registration. With old koshirae, not usable except for the metal fittings. The metal fittings in the koshirae include iron fuchi/kashira with what was probably a flower pattern, a plain tsuba, and the menuki are of two overlapping crabs.
