Listing: 1 x wooden and metal farm dairy maid shoulder yoke, 89 cm in length, from circa 1890 - 1930.

Condition: Used, antique condition. No original packaging, no instructions. There is surface wear, surface marks and surface scratches, as expected with a used item of this age. From smoke-free and pet free premises.

Description: Antique wooden shoulder carrying yoke with original iron chains.

A lovely traditional rural working piece, hand-crafted from solid hardwood with turned finial ends and retaining its original chain. The shaped centre is designed to sit comfortably across the shoulders while supporting suspended loads.

Traditionally these yokes were used for carrying buckets, water, milk, produce or other farm goods and today make excellent decorative pieces for farmhouse, country house or folk art collections.

Approximate age is late Victorian to early 20th century.
