About Art Deco 89:

Art Deco 89 was a short-lived Rhode Island jewelry company founded by Larry Joseph, formerly of the Hattie Carnegie company. The company was created to reinterpret glamorous Art Deco-era designs as upscale costume jewelry. Because production was brief (only in operation for ONE YEAR) authentic signed examples are increasingly scarce and sought after by knowledgeable collectors. Art Deco 89 pieces are also renowned for having been discovered in Elizabeth Taylor’s own personal collection.

Condition:

Excellent vintage pre-owned condition. Presents beautifully with bright stones, rich color, clean finish, and a secure working clasp. Minimal visible wear consistent with careful storage. Appears to be in like new condition, possibly unworn. Please review all photos closely for exact cosmetic condition and measurements. This was part of the inventory of an antique jewelry store in California before the owner’s estate was sold.

Why this piece stands out:

• Authentic signed Art Deco 89 example

• Rare and hard-to-find maker

• Bold collector-quality basket design

• Exceptional sparkle and color contrast

• Ready to wear, gift, or add to a serious vintage jewelry collection

A beautiful and increasingly difficult-to-source signed Art Deco 89 brooch that rarely surfaces in this condition.
