'buck a disc' listing. up for auction today is a 1988 issued '2fer' CD of the 1974 album by the Irish Blues Guitar master Rory Gallagher titled 'Irish Tour '74'. Gallagher started getting international attention with his group Taste, who 

were very active in the 1969-1971 timeframe, taking on a solo career immediately after the break-up of the group. 

he was very busy and very influential in the 1970s, with a number of excellent albums, and many players claiming

him as a major influence: Brian May modeled on his style (and early equipment), Clapton claimed he brought

him back to the Blues. even an 80s guitarist like Johnny Marr considered him a prime influence. this album was

one of only three albums he released in the 1980s and the first for his own label. the 'kinda' soundtrack to a docu-

mentary about Gallagher and the times in Ireland when this was recorded. it's his best live album - the return to his

Northern Irish homeland does bring out the best in him and his band. an excellent buy for Gallagher and Blues 

Guitar fans. IRS/Coda X2-13130 w/4pp booklet. allmusic.com rates this at 4.5 stars of 5.
