This is an original, wood and brass marking gauge or scribe. It is marked: Stanley, New Britain, Conn.,USA, No.77. I don't know much about these tools so I hope the pictures can answer what you want to know. Item measures 2 1/2" tall to top of brass screw and 7 1/2" wide to end of brass screw. Item is in very good condition showing normal wear from age and handling. There are some fine, small speckles in the wood on one side of the center square piece. The is a small green spot on the edge of the square middle piece. It appears to be al intact.
