Every Sunday, the platter was brought from the highest cupboard only after the roast was ready. It carried warm bread, grilled vegetables and stories that grew a little larger every year. Children became adults around it, grandparents quietly disappeared from the table, and recipes were passed down without ever being written.
One day the house became silent, but the platter remained—still bright, still waiting for another family to make it part of their own traditions.
