The River Flotilla of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is an operational unit created to control river areas (in particular, the Dnieper), support the Ground Forces, patrol and land landings.
The River Flotilla was created in 2022 to respond to existing threats from the enemy on the Dnieper River. The River Forces are an independent branch of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The River Flotilla performs combat missions in the river environment in the Polissya, Kupyansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia directions.
