Hello, up for auction is this used  Springfield Armory 1911a1 Government Model grip safety which came off a 1990's stainless Springfield. The Springfield was a copy of the Colt 1911 design.   Standard 1911a1 style safety for use with spur hammer, not round style hammer.  This is a 1990's production  grip safety. Matte / dull Satin Nickel type finish, some light use wear on finish, see photos. Back in the 1990's on many Springfield stainless 1911a1's while the main parts were stainless, the smaller parts such as slide stop, thumb safety and grip safety were carbon steel parts given a soft matte nickel finish to match the stainless appearance. This has the wide Colt Series 70 safety foot, not compatible with Series 80 Colts or pistols that use the Series 80 system.   Installed this on two older 1911 type pistols, worked fine in both. Photos show part installed on 1940 Colt. Part overall in VG used condition.  Part will fit most any Colt 1911 or clone. Although these parts are usually drop-in, some slight fitting may be required for your piece.  Part sent USPS for $6.25. Old Colt is shown for illustrative purposes ONLY and not part of auction! Thanks for looking.
