JAPANESE 'OGURUSU' KOMAI STYLE BRITISH BULLDOG CIGARETTE CASE c1900's
Period: c1900's.
Materials: Gold damascene inlay on metal.
Dimensions: 90mm long x 84mm wide.
Makers marks: Ogurusu Japanese mark.
Condition: Wear, rubbing, tarnishing and surface scratches to the surface of the case. A couple of minor dings. Wear commensurate with age and use.
Notes: A note inside the case reads that the case was a gift from Hugh Ivor (Trevor) Jones (1884-1918), to his brother Theophilius Kerr Jones (1877-1949). There is an inscription to the back that reads "From Hugh" and 'T.K.J' initial monogram. Sadly Hugh died in June 1918 during WWI.
