Tsujimura Shiro is one of the most prominent contemporary artists of modern times and is considered as a living legend in Japan. Unusually for ceramic artists in Japan, Tsujimura is
entirely self-taught and although his creations rely on historic
techniques found in traditional Japanese and Korean styles, he brings a sense of freedom and self-confidemce with his work. His creations
have been described as pure and spiritual, where the passing of time and the art of
imperfection play an important role. Both his ceramic works and paintings are held in galleries and important collections worldwide.
