The 2014 Remembrance Day $2 coloured uncirculated coin was released to commemorate Remembrance Day and the loss of Australian lives in all wars and conflicts. It featured a centrally-sculpted design of a dove carrying an olive branch, both symbols of peace, and was inspired by the Australian Commonwealth Military Forces' "Rising Sun" badge. The Royal Australian Mint also stated that the coin was a way to introduce their ANZAC coin program, which would feature both circulating and collectible coins.
