Bio

Kim, who is making his 10th U.S. Open start, owns four PGA Tour victories, his last coming in the 2023 Sony Open in Hawaii. It came nearly a year after he won the 2021 American Express Championship in La Quinta, Calif. Kim's breakthrough on the PGA Tour came in 2017 when he became, at age 21, the youngest winner of The Players Championship. Kim won by three strokes over Ian Poulter and Louis Oosthuizen at TPC Sawgrass. At age 17 in 2012, Kim became the youngest to qualify for the PGA Tour via Q-School, but had to wait until he turned 18 at the end of June to compete. He missed seven cuts in his first eight starts. In 2015, Kim became the second-youngest winner (Jason Day) in Web.com Tour (now Korn Ferry Tour) history when he prevailed in the Stonebrae Classic. He finished 10th on the Web.com Tour money list that year to earn PGA Tour privileges for the 2015-16 season. Kim represented the Republic of Korea in the 2012 World Amateur Team Championship, and the International side in the 2017, 2022 and 2024 Presidents Cups.
