The Significance of the Union Interalliée
The Cercle de l’Union Interalliée was a high-status Paris institution created around Allied military and diplomatic networks.
Founded in 1917, during the First World War, as a prestigious meeting place for Allied officers, political figures and senior personalities from the Allied nations. Its own history describes it as created to welcome officers and political leaders of the Entente powers, at the moment when American entry into the Great War made Allied cooperation even more important.
The club was based at 33 rue / Faubourg Saint-Honoré, Paris, the same prestigious address printed on this card. Modern records still identify the Union Interalliée at that address.
Its importance is strengthened by its association with Marshal Ferdinand Foch, the celebrated Allied commander of the First World
