Montegrappa European Central Bank Euro 2002 Fountain Pen – Limited Edition

This is an exceptionally rare fountain pen from a limited edition of only 65 pieces, produced by Montegrappa in 2002 for the European Central Bank and European Union high-ranking officials to commemorate the introduction of the euro currency. This particular pen was presented to a former President of the European Commission.

All metal components are made of solid 18 carat gold and are hallmarked "750", as shown in the photos. The nib is also made of solid 18 karat gold and is a medium point.

The pen is in mint, unused condition and has never been inked. The presentation box shows only minor signs of age and handling. The decorative bar on the box is made of 925 sterling silver.

This is a highly desirable collector's piece due to its historical significance, substantial gold content, and extreme rarity, with only 65 examples ever produced. It is exceptionally uncommon to find one of these pens offered for sale, and even more so a specimen presented to a President of the European Commission.

Made in Italy, as are all Montegrappa fountain pens.
