A small anthropomorphic figure collected from the Blackwater River in the Sepik Region of New Guinea pre 1960. The figure is carved from bark and is depicted in a compact haunched position with raised shoulders framing the torso and legs meeting at the bottom. It features a prominent elongated head with stylized facial details including recessed eyes a broad nose and a defined mouth. The surface displays a dark patina and measures 25cm in length.
