For sale we have a excellent near attic scarce 1/2 pint Pittsburgh For Pike's Peak Old Rye, Spread Wing Eagle Pittsburgh Pa. Historical whiskey flask or bottle. This flask is crude, with seedy and pebbly glass throughout the entire flask. This flask is in a nice rich aqua coloration. We date this flask to the early 1870's. The mold and embossing on both sides protrude well and both are very sharp and crisp. This flask has the look when viewed or displayed in the window. This beauty has a early crude smooth base. The top is very crude with an applied double collared lip all with no issues. The neck is full of bubbles and crude deep swirl lines in the glass. The condition is near attic with no chips, cracks, deep scratches or scuffing. This flask has not been dug or cleaned. We see a very few really thin and small age and usage scratches throughout this beauty, along with some very fine highpoint and outer base wear. We see a bit of dried spotty content in the lower inner base area. We pictured these areas and mention them for complete accuracy. The height is approx. 6 1/4". This is a fresh to the market flask in original untouched unaltered condition. This flask is not totally mint, but it's a great example, being in excellent untouched and unaltered condition. This flask has a very crude and bubbly appearance. These original untouched fresh to the market beauties are getting difficult to find. This is a excellent window bottle and a classic example of early American Historical or Pictorial flask. This example looks outstanding and displays well in any setting and it looks better in person. This flask would make a great addition to a American Historical or Pictorial Flask collection. Thank you for viewing our auctions and listings and any questions please ask.
