Up for sale is a highly collectible and authentic Montblanc vintage writing set from the 1950s (produced around 1951–1958). This set is an absolute time capsule, preserved together for decades in its original leather pouch.
🔴 Color Rarity Note:
While vintage Montblanc pens from this era are usually found in standard black, this entire set comes in the highly sought-after and rare Dark Burgundy (Bordeaux) celluloid. Finding a fully matching 344G and PIX 372 set in this specific color—complete with the original matching leather case—is extremely difficult, making it a prime target for high-end Montblanc collectors.
🖋️ 1. Montblanc 344G Fountain Pen
- Nib: Original 14K Gold Nib (Stamped 14C / 585 / 344). It is a Size F (Fine) nib with extraordinary flexibility (Flex). It offers beautiful line variation, transitions from thin to broad with ease, and is perfect for calligraphy (please see the attached writing sample).
- Feed: Original ebonite (hard rubber) ski-slope feed with intact fins, providing a rich and consistent ink flow.
- Filling System: Integrated piston filler.
- Condition Note: The piston knob and mechanism turn smoothly all the way, but due to its 70+ years of age, the original cork/silicone seal has shrunk and currently does not create a vacuum. It will require a routine seal replacement to be fully operational. The barrel, threads, and cap are completely free of cracks or hairlines.
✏️ 2. Montblanc PIX 372 Mechanical Pencil
- Mechanism: Pusher-Knock (repeater) mechanism using 1.18 mm leads.
- Condition: Fully functional. The heavy-duty internal brass and steel mechanism works flawlessly with a crisp click. The burgundy body and gold trims are in great vintage shape.

- Description: Authentic 1950s brown leather case with a functional vintage zipper and elastic loops designed specifically for this duo.
- Condition: Shows natural age patina and minor historic ink stains, proving its authentic usage over the decades.
