Art Deco Egyptian Revival Pendant Isis with Spread Wings Silver set with Opal
This stunning pendant is Art Deco and made from gilded sterling silver. Depicting the Goddess Isis, kneeling with wings spread and surrounded by hieroglyphic characters, with three small round opals set beneath her. The pendant is really beautifully designed and modelled, all the details crisp, the wings beautifully depicted, reaching from one side of the pendant to the other, with the feathers curled upwards and Isis' arms above them. Isis is the Goddess of magic, of motherhood and of fertility and was viewed by the Egyptians as the divine mother of the Pharaohs and the very embodiment of royal power, so this is an extremely potent symbol. Even the bale of the pendant is wrought with hieroglyphs, carrying the design throughout the piece. A beautiful pendant in super condition.
