Aquarium Terrarium Stainless Steel Frame Slate Bottom w Light Fixture ~ 5-Gallon

These tanks are popular among collectors as functional retro fish tanks or as decorative terrariums for plants and land animals.

The condition is very good with no chips, no cracks, and no dents.  

While washing in non-toxic soap, a piece of the black caulk came off.  As shown, there are two areas where this piece could have been under the outside upper steel frame. This detachment likely happened as I was holding (and possibly lifting away) the upper frame from the outer side of the glass while washing the tank.  The rest of the molding appears intact.  

I have not water tested this tank. Vintage tanks typically require resealing with modern silicone before being filled with water, as the original tar-based sealant often dries out over time. 

Approximate measurements:

   Tank: 16 inches long x 8.5" wide x 10" high calculates to 5.89 gallons

   Light fixture: 1 7/8 inches high

A magnet adheres only to the light bulb switch area.

The electric cord has exposed copper wire as shown.  Please note: I carefully tested the light but you must fix the electrical cord prior to using this light fixture.

Sold as described with old molding, no light bulb, damaged electrical cord, and no glass or plastic or screen for completely covering the top.
