This is a highly collectible vintage first edition (1st Edition) printing of "Makoto-chan" Volume 1, the absolute crown jewel of gag-comedy manga by the legendary maestro of Japanese horror, Kazuo Umezu. Published in 1985 under Shogakukan's iconic Shonen Sunday Comics imprint, this original Japanese edition captures the peak of 1980s Showa-era subculture, surreal comedy, and iconic pop culture trends (such as the famous "Gwashi!" hand sign). As a vintage item that is over four decades old, it shows authentic signs of natural aging: there is noticeable tanning (yellowing) and minor age spots on the top, bottom, and side page edges as captured in the photos. The cover remains bright with minimal shelf wear, the binding is secure, and all expressive artwork and Japanese text are perfectly readable.
