Facsimile of the Golden Cockerel Press' edition of the Four Gospels, generally regarded as their finest production and as one of the most successful private press books of the twentieth century. The separate Commentary volume includes John Dreyfus' essay on Eric Gill and the Golden Cockerel Type.

Main volume bound in full morocco, blocked in 24-carat gold with a design featuring Eric Gill's four symbols for Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, supported in a blind-blocked frame. Commentary volume quarter-bound in buckram and board.
