High-Description **Item:** Rare Vintage Bien Hoa Art Pottery Character Ewer / Teapot

**Origin:** Bien Hoa, Vietnam (Circa 1930s–1950s)

**Artisan Signature:** Hand-signed "Tran" on the base


**Key Features:**

* **Form:** Unique openwork pierced "character" silhouette body with an integrated bamboo-style handle and elegant tall spout.

* **Lid:** Includes the incredibly RARE, original matching triangular cap featuring an intact ceramic security hook underneath. Small wear chip

* **Design:** Central incised medallion featuring a detailed sgraffito illustration of a lady in a purple gown holding a flower beneath a tree. Surrounded by a pattern of faux-crazed/crackled motifs. The use of black, purple, and brown paint indicates this work was painted by a master versus novice artist at the Bien Hoa School. Purple is also rarely seen in these pieces.


* **Glaze & Condition:** Finished in a rich, glossy copper-teal/green drip glaze with a pristine, opaque white interior glaze. NO glaze crazing on the main body or anywhere.

* **Overall:** Outstanding vintage condition. Spout, handle, body, and lid are structurally sound with no cracks.

* **Wear Spot:** There is minor, honest shelf-wear on the bottom base edge, handle side, completely invisible when displayed upright. Small chip on hook of lid not affecting function, due to normal wear.
