CD CONDITION GUIDE

I grade CDs conservatively using standard collector grading. Disc, booklet/insert, tray card, and any special packaging are considered separately. Standard jewel cases are replaceable and are not usually graded unless they are original stickered cases or special packaging such as digipaks, longboxes, slipcases, or box sets. Any cracks, broken hubs, sticker residue, promo marks, cutouts, writing, or missing pieces will be noted.


MINT (M)

Perfect in every way. Usually reserved for factory sealed items. An opened CD will very rarely be graded Mint.


NEAR MINT (NM)

Looks almost perfect. Disc shows no obvious wear or only the faintest handling. Booklet and inserts are crisp, clean, and complete with no major flaws. Packaging is exceptionally clean if graded.


EXCELLENT (EX)

Very clean copy with only minor signs of handling or use. Disc may show a few very light marks that do not affect play. Booklet and inserts may show slight wear but remain sharp and attractive.


VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+)

Clearly used but well cared for. Disc may have a handful of light surface marks or scuffs from normal use. Booklet and inserts may show light shelf wear, small indentations, or minor handling wear, but no major damage.


VERY GOOD (VG)

Noticeable wear from regular use. Disc may show several light to moderate marks or scuffs, but should still play properly unless otherwise noted. Booklet and inserts may have creasing, edge wear, small tears, or other moderate wear.


GOOD (G)

Heavier wear but still serviceable. Disc may have more obvious marks and scuffs. Artwork may show heavier creasing, staining, writing, tears, or other wear. Any playback issues will be specifically noted.


FAIR (F)

Significant wear. Disc and packaging show heavy use and cosmetic damage. May still play, but flaws are substantial and will be described.


POOR (P)

Very heavily worn or damaged. May have serious playback issues, missing pieces, water damage, major cracks, or other severe defects.

Any testing or spot-checking will be stated in the listing. Please review photos carefully, as they are part of the description. I grade conservatively and note any flaws I see.

Every CD I sell must pass a test of playing all the way through with no issues on my own personal system.  Each CD is cleaned and should arrive to you ready to play.  Please understand that condition grading is subjective.  I grade conservatively to ensure I under promise and over deliver.  Please review all photos to judge condition for yourself.  Unless an item has been misrepresented by a large margin I will not debate condition as I said it is subjective.
