KEUFFEL & ESSER K&E paragon 71-3015 OPTICAL TILTING LEVEL W/ORIGINAL BOX & Optical Micrometer 71-1111

Calibrated and utilized previously in the aerospace industry, this is a exceptionally fine and accurate tool. It has the optical micrometer attached seen in the pictures.

The case and tool has signs of normal wear. Otherwise it is in great condition.

The tilting level is a precision instrument designed for optical tooling and alignment applications.
It can be used to establish a place in space that is level (horizontal) to within 1 arc second.
When the instrument is used with the optical micrometer and optical tooling scale, displacements from the horizontal plane can be determined at distances up to 100' to an accuracy of thousandths of an inch.
All types of machinery and equipment, such as bed plates, turbine foundations, and paper machine be plates, can be leveled with ease to accuracies difficult if not impossible to achieve with conventional mechanical methods.
