A pink school backpack named for the child whose first day of nursery this is, with the same design in two sizes for siblings of different ages.
Mornings the small one starts at nursery and the older sister is heading into Year One often have two backpacks lined up at the front door. A bright pink backpack named for each child, in matching designs but two different sizes, lifts the weight of the morning slightly: each child knows which is theirs by sight, and each bag carries the same custom-name lettering across the front pocket. The pink polyester body wipes down after the inevitable yoghurt-spill morning, and the design stays on the front year-round.
Turns up in the same first-day-of-school photograph for two siblings every September.
The child's name is printed in clean white block lettering across the front pocket of the bag; the lettering is bold enough to read from across the school cloakroom. No cartoon character.
