The HS-7 is a wooden headshell crafted from rare, high-quality Japanese camellia wood. Camellia is gaining attention because its fruit is used to produce camellia oil for cosmetics and other products. As a wood, camellia features a very fine, uniform grain and is an excellent material.

Generally, with turntable tonearms, the lighter the total weight—including the cartridge and headshell—the higher the sensitivity. We recommend using the HS-7 to take advantage of its lightness as a lightweight vibration system. By reducing the mass of the headshell, you may be able to enjoy a lighter, more agile sound from the same cartridge than you have experienced before.
The HS-7’s finish is achieved by applying a clear eco-friendly coating to the surface, leaving it in a state close to the natural wood grain. Its light brown appearance has a unique charm. The finger rest is made of brass and gold-plated. Since the wood itself does not produce any inherent resonance, there is virtually no “squeaking” from the finger rest, a problem often associated with metal shells.
