Of purse form with hinged double cover and swivel fastener, each corner chased and engraved on the front with foliate scrolls joined by matching scrolls, on a rayed ground on the upper flap and a striated ground on the lower flap, the back with a view of a cityscape, possibly Moscow, within a scroll and diaperwork border, the interior silver-gilt, maker's mark YA.B, assay master's initials and year date 1856, silver standard mark "84" and city mark for Moscow inside case and each flap.
