CB4027) New Guinea 1936 King Edward VIII Penny, one of the few coins issued Worldwide for the abdicated king. Produced at the Melbourne mint, only 360,000 coins struck. Compare this with the Australian penny of the same date of which nearly 10 million were produced. The Australian coin catalogues at $400 for choice uncirculated. The New Guinea coin is 27 times scarcer! Checking on eBay a few sharks are circling with prices up to $1300! These are from a recently discovered hoard. Uncirculated with full lustre.

Price is for a single coin.
