Offered here is a beautifully preserved early 1960s Famos acoustic guitar, made by the Dutch manufacturer Venlonia in the Netherlands.
These guitars were part of the same European post-war guitar boom that produced brands like Framus and Egmond β but Famos/Magic instruments are far less common, especially in this condition.
This particular model features the distinctive heart-shaped soundhole, a design you almost exclusively see on Dutch-built guitars from this era.
Built in the Netherlands during the late 1950sβearly 1960s, this guitar represents a time when Dutch craftsmanship was finding its place in the global music scene.
Many of these instruments were exported worldwide, and today they are increasingly appreciated by collectors β especially in the US, where vintage European guitars with character and history are gaining popularity.
This is one of those rare finds that looks like it has been stored away for decades.
Lightweight and very responsive, with a warm, vintage tone typical of early European acoustic guitars. Great for:
Venlonia also produced similar guitars under names like Magic, meaning identical models can exist with different branding β making each surviving example a unique piece of Dutch production history.
Carefully packed and shipped worldwide.
Feel free to message me with any questions.
Finding a Dutch-made Famos in this condition is extremely rare. Most examples show heavy wear β this one does not.
A beautiful and authentic vintage piece with real character.
