The Uganda 5,000 Shilling banknote was issued by the Bank of Uganda in 1986, after Milton Obote was overthrown. The banknote comes in purple and features the coat of arms on the map of Uganda on its front design. The back of the banknote depicts the Makerere University Main Hall building with a clock tower. The banknote is 158 x 90 mm in size and bears a solid security thread. It also has a watermark that reflects a crested crane. This particular banknote is in uncirculated condition.
