Antique Hand Carved Turkish Wood Camel Rocker with Leather Cushion Seat

One of a kind and unique carved wood rocking camel. It’s a child’s size, hand made and very cool and very old! It has the original camel leather seat with a blue and white embroidery.

It has red eyes and red mouth detail with carving detail to the neck and head also. Some of the leather around the neck is missing and there is a slight tear to the cushion. There is also water to the leather hold points and looks to be missing the front saddle and rear saddle supports as you can see there there have been dowels.

Some of the rear of the foot is also missing in places and there is a crack on the bobbin.

Length in total from the mouth to the carved bobbins 64cm

Width 27cm

This is a great find dating back to 1940’s.

Returning British military personnel and travelers often brought these back from Turkey, Egypt, and North Africa as "exotic" furniture or footstools.
