Edwardian Opal Pendant in 9ct Gold on 45cm 9ct Gold Chain
A charming Edwardian Gold and opal pendant featuring an opal cabochon bezel set to the centre, with four arms forming a cross and each having trefoil terminals decorated by a seed pearl, all of which is enclosed within an open, golden circle. The natural Australian opal is small and round, in a fine millegrain bezel and shows a very pretty play of colour, with blues violet and greens being the predominant colours. Measuring 14mm diameter, this is a delicate, feminine and very pretty pendant, with gorgeous Edwardian styling. In good antique condition, all pearls are original and show good lustre, the opal is not chipped or cracked. The gold shows minor wear commensurate with age.
The pendant is stamped 9CT to the back, and is suspended from a later fine gold chain and with hallmarked 9ct gold bolt ring fastener.
