Bach Model 236/43 Stradivarius D Trumpet

Description

This D-trumpet is an instrument from the very early period of what is known as the “Early Erlhart” era.

It produces a rich, full-bodied tone and is suitable for a wide range of settings, from chamber music to orchestral performances.

The 236 bell, which comes standard on this D-trumpet, is typically paired with a No. 7 leadpipe.

However, this instrument appears to be a custom-made model featuring a No. 43 leadpipe, which I believe contributes to its even richer tone.

It has excellent intonation and will prove useful for pieces with many transpositions or high notes.

Each piston is stamped with a serial number, and all numbers match.

The airtightness is also outstanding.

The lacquer shows some blistering around the bell and peeling at minor repair sites. I estimate about 97% of the lacquer remains.

There are three repair marks on the bell and one on the branch pipe extending from the valve casing on the first pipe, but all have been neatly repaired.

This instrument is undoubtedly ready to play and is also a highly valuable piece for any collection.
