Beautiful Vintage Fun Colorful Quilt from 1960-1970s. Large homemade. 90”x82”. 6 lbs, 11oz.

If you’re wanting to add some color, fun and interest to a bedroom, this quilt will do it. A testament to traditional quilting craftsmanship, this large, handmade quilt boasts 4 hourglass blocks coming together to make a pinwheel square. The white background fabric has numerous other primary colors and designs for you to explore. This is a retro polyester quilt.

There is a blue striped 5 inch border all the way around the quilt which reminds me of water. That same fabric is used for the binding. This is a yarn tied quilt with the ends of the yarn being on the backside, which you rarely ever see on a quilt, but I love it. She used many different colors of yarn, which is another thing you hardly ever see. The backside fabric is a white, gray and black grid fabric, very cool.

It Weighs 6 pounds 11 ounces.

Pre-owned in excellent condition. I washed this quilt myself and set it in the sun to dry. It laundered beautifully. I do not see a single spot, tear, rip or anything. That is why they call these polyester quilts “the workhorse of quilts”. Unlike cotton, you cannot wear it out.

I believe it was made between the 1960s and the 1970s.

A wonderful piece of American craftsmanship. I purchased this at a very nice estate sale in my neighborhood in Clearwater Florida.
