The all-new Giro InsurgentT SphericalT aims to offer the protection, comfort and ventilation that our top riders demand, from the Enduro World Series to Red Bull Rampage. Our engineers have maximized the ventilation of the helmet by focusing on the front intake points to have a greater quantity of fresh air available, optimizing the rear vent openings and connecting everything with large and deep internal grooves in which the air flows between the inside of the helmet and the hair. The internal padding, made of IONIC+ antibacterial material, is light, soft to the touch and is designed to absorb sweat. Thanks to the extension of the front area, the padding channels sweat drops and away from the eye area. For each of the three sizes of the helmet, there are two cheek pads of different thicknesses to guarantee an absolutely customizable fit, plus a new directional snap fastening system has been designed (similar to a press stud) between the helmet and the cheek pad which allows, in the event of an accident and risk to the neck or head, to remove the cheek pads without the consumer having to be moved. This is a good and new security feature.
The weight of the helmet stops at 1040 g (size M/L), a full 200 g lighter than the previous Giro DiscipleT Mips despite many new technical features having been added, including the Spherical TechnologyT advanced protection system, designed and created in collaboration with MIPST.
Structurally the Insurgent SphericalT helmet features a pair of polystyrene foam layers that work together like a sphere inside the pad to redirect impact energy in the event of an accident. The external layer is in EPS, a rigid material suitable for resisting strong impacts, the other is a low-density EPP foam with the main characteristic of absorbing impacts at low speeds. Other features include: the Flex Seal (patent pending) along the bottom edge of the helmet, designed to reduce the role a full-face helmet can play in some collarbone breaks; Hollow allen key shaped peak screws for easy removal if the visor tears; third central hole, called B-Hole, to adjust the peak but which becomes the ideal support for POV action cameras
The new Giro Insurgent SphericalT helmet is truly optimal protection for those riders who, when they go out on the bike, redefine what is possible in the world of the most advanced mountain biking.

Structurally, the Insurgent SphericalT helmet features a pair of polystyrene foam layers that work together like a ball inside a bearing to redirect impact energy in the event of a crash. The outer layer is EPS, a rigid material suitable for withstanding high impacts; the other is a low-density EPP foam with the main characteristic of absorbing low-speed impacts. Other features include: the Flex gasket (patent pending) along the lower edge of the helmet, designed to reduce the role a full-face helmet can play in some collarbone fractures; hollow brow screw with a hex key shape for easy removal in case of visor tear-off; a third central hole, called the B-Hole, for adjusting the brow but which becomes the ideal mount for POV action cameras.
