The Pioneer Exclusive M5 is a monaural Class A power amplifier introduced in 1982. The zero-NFB Super Linear Circuit eliminates TIM distortion and switching/crossover distortion in principle. A dedicated Class A bias power supply improves efficiency and prevents excessive heat generation. Premium parts are used throughout: toroidal OFC power transformer in a non-magnetic resin case, 280µm OFC PCB tracks, polycarbonate/polypropylene composite film capacitors, and gold-plated vise-type speaker terminals.
