Who we are:
* We are a registered charity run by Volunteers, with a disability & mobility training centre & workshop.
WHAT WE DO:
* We give training & support for the disabled to assist with skills and independent living.
We welcome volunteers and trainees of all abilities. We accept both clinical and self-referrals
* We maintain & service mobility aids -Powerchairs, Rollators, Scooters, Walkers, wheelchairs, etc.
* Our comprehensive workshops hold extensive stocks of both new and used parts, and can make most discontinued spares. We also have full diagnostics and programming capability.
* We collect donations across the South East, without charge, for refurbishment and passing on.
* Our grant scheme supports those who cannot afford to pay in full, our website has details.
* We offer best value by refurbishing pre-owned aids, and offering them at the lowest possible prices.
* We offer a further discount to members of our charity - see our separate listing.
* We can adapt on request & build bespoke powerchairs - please see our other listings!
Our Sales & Services:
* All our mobility aids have had pre-sale assessments by our skilled and factory-trained technicians.
* Most (but not all) of our used powerchairs and scooters have been checked with batteries and a suitable charger, even where sold without batteries or charger.
Aids are sold "as seen" to keep the price as low as possible, but for complete peace-of-mind, optional warranties are also available, please see separate listing or enquire.
We grade everything as:
A = Excellent; not new but nearly so; Good working Order;
B = used, and shows it; Good working Order;
C = Working but well used; Good working Order;
Grades A, B,and C include a tested charger, but may not include batteries, see listings.
Grade D does not come with batteries or charger, and may not be complete.
D = Spares & Repair ONLY; Not Working. Parts & work needed to get going. Entirely as seen.
We judge them to require too much of our time + parts, but may be repairable. They may otherwise be broken or incomplete, with parts missing - so feel free to ask what is broken or missing, before you buy, as there is no warranty or condition report on these whatsoever. It is as the pictures show. Please DO NOT buy a Grade D item expecting it to work ? it doesn?t.
How we list items now :
1. Lowest Price: Auction price which is local pickup only, and without batteries, but tested with batteries (except Grade D ? Spares and Repairs only). Freight can be arranged for you, and we have separately listed new batteries, installed, if required. If our offer is without batteries, and you need us to supply and fit, please message us as soon as you purchase. This is now only available on special request.
2. "BUY IT NOW" price, checked & ready to go, which includes both new batteries with a 12 month RTB warranty, and FREE shipping on UK mainland. Items at this standard will have had a comprehensive workshop check. Offers will be considered, if justified.
3. DESCRIPTION
* The Workshop report included summarises the condition.
* Please be aware we offer used items with wear & tear and age related marks.
* We do not show minor cosmetic marks, scuffs etc. separately; we do show all major damage.
The pictures form part of the description.
To keep costs down, we do NOT include a service unless specifically stated.
PRICING:
We offer you a choice - to save our clients money, and to give best possible value, as buyers often have good batteries, we list many items without them, unless otherwise stated. If you wish to fit batteries yourself, we are happy to provide instructions on request. We separately list the prices to supply and fit new batteries.
A. Sales at "Auction price" are without batteries to keep the price as low as possible. On request only, and subject to availability, we may fit a pair of well used batteries which prove function, but with no warranty. There is no charge for this.
B. Sales at "Buy it Now" price include NEW Batteries with a 12 month RTB warranty.
This is NOT a warranty on the item itself, which can be purchased separately.
Where we are open to offers, these MUST be above the starting price, or they will be rejected. We can accept a reduced price where batteries are not required. Special prices for Charity Members.
C. We also list both Return to Base (RTB) and on-site warranties.
D. Grants. If you need grant aid, please apply well in advance.
As a registered charity, we cannot give grant aid until approved, which takes time.
If you wish to apply for a grant, please message us before bidding.
E. New Batteries:
Separately, we also list new batteries, which we will fit included in the listed price, if bought at the same time, and which come with a 12 month RTB warranty, on the batteries only.
Aids with no warranty are only shipped with working batteries, where requested & available.
To keep costs down, we offer low price aids without batteries, ideal for those who already have batteries. If you wish us to supply and install batteries, please discuss first & see our listings.
SHIPPING:
A. Local pickup is free, but by appointment only - we are often out visiting clients. If visiting, please be aware that we run an industrial workshop and training centre, not a retail showroom, so there are strict health and safety rules which MUST be followed. Your host will guide you.
B. We can usually offer own van deliveries based upon a cost of 99p per mile each way, min £25.
C."?White Glove" delivery and training is available by quotation.
D. Powerchairs and scooters are shipped across mainland UK by Pallet Courier, at cost, typically £25 for a pallet, tie down and wrap, plus £55 - £99 for collection, transit, delivery UK Mainland, & insurance. We can arrange shipping world-wide, so please ask for quotes.
E. For pallet deliveries, you must tell us in advance if there are, or might be, access issues as delivery is normally by 16T truck with tail-lift.
If an ambulance or fire engine can't get there, we will need to pre-arrange delivery by a smaller van, to avoid the extra costs which are charged for failed deliveries.
F. Note that control leads MAY be disconnected for safety during transit.
If a powered aid arrives and does not work, please check to see what is disconnected.
(You may also have bought an aid sold without batteries, so please check).
RETURNS:
Before returning as non-working, please ensure that you have checked that any control cables disconnected for shipping have been re-connected, and that nothing has come loose in shipment.
If in doubt, send us a message and our workshop team will contact you.
Please do reject anything received visibly damaged or agree the damage with the delivery driver in writing and with pictures, so that we can claim for damage in transit.
All aids are returned at buyer expense. Should this be necessary, we are happy to guide you.
If the issue is our fault, i.e. not as described, we will refund the proper costs provided we have approved them in advance.
REFUNDS:
If you are totally happy, please leave us positive feedback, so, then we know. If you are not happy, please talk to us first. We are always willing to accept returns given a reason. Aids must be returned to us at your cost for inspection prior to refunding. We refund transport costs only if what you received was not as described, or we are making a claim for damage in transit.
VAT:
Since most of our buyers are entitled to Disabled VAT exemption, we always list at the VAT exempt price. If you are entitled to exemption, you must complete and return the VAT Exemption form, within 14 days or we must bill you for the VAT.
If you are not entitled to exemption (i.e. a business), then we must add the VAT.
Buy ins and part-exchanges:
Because we accept donations, we do not buy aids. We do however consider part-exchanges, and offer free removal of old aids, which must be discussed with us before bidding or purchasing, otherwise we may not be able to help. Our vans cover Southern & South-East England, but not Central/Inner London, because of access, costs and parking issues. Please ask.
Support:
Feel free to ask anything. Be assured that any guidance that we offer is fully impartial as our volunteers sole concern is to ensure that you get the best possible outcome.
Hours of Business:
Being Volunteer led and run, we do not adhere to normal business hours. Insomniacs like us are often responding to messages at 3 o?clock in the morning! Likewise, we can often schedule collections and visits outside normal business hours.
FEEDBACK:
Either of us sometimes get things wrong. If you are not happy that we deserve 5* positive feedback, please discuss it with us. We want to ensure your total satisfaction. Ebay rules require you to talk to us before leaving neutral or negative feedback. Doing otherwise also impacts you for rule breaking.
* Ambassadors, Trustees and Workshop Volunteers are always welcome!
* We provide full training as needed and run courses for the disabled.
- if interested, please enquire for whatever you need.
SUPPORT:
* We pride ourselves on superb support. Do discuss anything with us.
* For pre-purchase support, please use the Ebay messaging service.
* Post-purchase support is also available via the Ebay messaging service.
* Manuals are only supplied upon request, and then electronically.
