Item Description

Offered for your consideration is a stunning example of early 20th-century Japanese craftsmanship. This square-sided porcelain vase features vibrant, hand-painted poppies in shades of burnt orange and soft pink, accented by delicate blue floral vines along the vertical ridges. The piece is finished with hand-applied gold gilt along the rim, base, and corners, characteristic of the fine export ware produced for the Western market during the Nippon era.

Condition

This vase is in Very Good Antique Condition. There are no chips, cracks, hairlines, or professional repairs. The porcelain remains bright and the floral pigments are exceptionally vivid.

As is common with Nippon porcelain of this age, there is modest wear to the gold gilt, particularly along the rim and the sharp vertical corners (see photo with pencil for a clear example). The interior shows some organic residue or staining from previous use. Please review all high-resolution photos as they are considered part of the description.
