Lot of two vintage celluloid turtle / tortoise toys from Japan in two different designs and sizes. Both blow-molded. The larger turtle -- approximately 4 inches long and 2.25 inches wide -- has an elongated shell with a brushed texture that is possibly a production defect. Stamped "Japan" on the bottom with unreadable manufacturer mark above. The smaller turtle is little over 2 inches long and 1.25 inches wide. It is marked "Made in Japan" on the bottom. Toys most likely date to 1920s or 1930s. These were part of a mostly pre-WWII holiday putz collection recovered from a Pennsylvania attic.

Good condition. No dents or splits. The pieces could stand a gentle cleaning.
